So What Exactly Is 'Reflective Learning'?

As you know i am writing this blog as an assignment piece for ICT Skills.
Today we asked the question: What is Reflective Learning?...

Well, here is what i think it is.
  • Looking back on what you have learnt in lectures or seminars and then thinking why these resources worked, how they worked and what you liked about them
  • Summarising what you have learnt
  • Mind mapping
  • Your understanding and interpretation of the topic
  • Others interpretations of the topic and why they thought it worked/did not work?
  • Paying critical attention to practical values...
Or you can just look at this...

On The Box...

i absolutley adore Political Satire TV Programmes. I find them highly entertaining...yet Educational. They are getting quite useful for my degree for some reason

The Thick Of It...the part with the Education Secretary - this does contain some very bad language, so if it is likely to offend, please dont watch it.

A Little More About Me

I have been married for almost four years to the
gorgeous Dai. This is a photograph taken during
our first dance. We had such a lovely day and are
sickeningly in love.

We have two beautiful children called Christopher, aged 9 and Grace aged 5. They are fantastic children. Christopher wants to be a paleontologist and Grace just wants to be a princess for now...as usual for a little girl.

I have danced for around 20 years and taught dance for 6. I have worked with Tan Dance and Douglas Comley who is a choreographer for Dynion (known as Meibion).

Dynion -Dynion Dance Company (This piece is did not have any hand in, but just thought i'd stick it on to show my support!)
Also, National Dance Company Wales, are truly amazing to work with. This is a piece that i learnt but, alas, i could not perform it at the speed the do. It was cut to half speed for our class and that was difficult enough!

Oh and you may have noticed the Penpal Of The Week button on the right of the page. This is a sort of blog i have joined. it is for people who like to correspond with other by SnailMail (thats pen and paper, not email). I currently have around 7 penpals from all over the world and received a letter today from my pal in Australia. I will try and put a link to photos of things like postcards and letters I receive, something along the lines of a photo album. I'll try and find a 'blog-app' for that.

So, I am typing this whilst watching yet another episode of QI and thinking that i really should be getting to bed.

18th October 2011

This is my first year studying BA Hons Education Studies in Swansea Metropolitan University in the cosmoplitan city of Swansea. It has always been a 'dream' of mine (sounds corny) to be a teacher of some sort and now both of my children are in full-time school, here I am. A sort-of mature student in school again. No apples for teachers required here.
I have always lived in Swansea. My mother is Polish and my Father is Welsh so I did have quite a diverse childhood. I do like a lot of polish culture, visiting relatives in Krakow and so on.

Here is a photo of me when I was 9 at a Polish National Day celebration. How embarrasing!

I, or we as a group, have been asked to keep a blog for the next three years about our lives in University.
So...here I am.
